Addionally, it adapts from the literal state into a bold, stylized graphic to bring strong visual elements of nature into the home.
In the outer edge design, Jalene Kanani seeks balance in all of aspects of design. Specifically, the Niho or “shark tooth” print is a prime example. A traditional kapa pattern often depicted as acute triangles, it bears reference to masculinity and aggression by way of the manō (shark).
